Phase 4: October - December

In working with trucks and trade skills like work and metalworking, my inspiration was based on rustic materials. The building has an amazing brick base that ties us back to the history of the building, but new materials can bring it to life in the modern world.
Bringing in color was important to me, sticking by the primary colors, mostly red, with accents of yellow. Inspiration searched helped me immensely with not only materials, but schematic plans and layouts, lighting design, and furniture to look for.

As I dove deeper into my designing process I began to mix in more of the materials from the secondary palette, looking to bring a mature and elevated appearance to the whole space. This included leathers, browns and blacks, and metals. The combination of these two birthed my final materials palette which reflects the final space.
Review 4
Before thanksgiving, the class gathered for our final review with our peers and professors to gather feedback. The following images were where my project was about a month before it was due. At this point, I knew I had a long way to go. the flow of the plan was still not working but the general structure was there. I was also not set on my palette yet and had more exploration to do. I also had not yet thought about lighting or ceiling elements to bring variety and depth into the space.

the main feedback I received was about changing plan elements to open the space and allow more room for dining and lounge space, creating a better flow.
Edits to be made on the first floor:
- move the front door away from the stairs, allowing more space for the entrance
- Move the office from the center of the plan towards the back wall
- Fix stairs, as I had a couple illegal stairs
-Expand workshop space
Second floor:
-take individual workstations away from the wall
- Use the open space more
- Reduce size of the private meeting rooms

Overall, I am very happy with how my project turned out. it has come a long way since the beginning of the semester and the space really reflects my vision. I think if I had more time I would work more with the materials in review, really honing in on perfecting them and creating consistency. I also wanted to have one more perspective view in my final presentation from the second floor, but my revit began to be overloaded and was crashing. I am proud of this project and I do believe that there is a real future in mobile businesses. I am happy that I stuck with the idea I was passionate about because this project speaks to my dreams and my future. It is something I am excited to share with potential employers.
